Welcome to the new yumsociety.ch! If you've known us for a while, you'll see it straight away: new colours, a new site, a new focus. Here's why.
How it all started
Yum Society starts with Opal. She grew up in Thailand and brought the taste of home with her to Switzerland.
«I come from one of the smallest towns in Thailand. And that is exactly where I learned what good taste really means.»
At first we brought exactly that to Switzerland: Thai cooking at home – curry pastes, chili crunch, coconut milk, coconut blossom sugar. Many of you cooked with them, and the recipes from back then are still here.
Why snacks, and why now
Then came the pineapple. The idea of putting that taste into a pouch that crunches out loud became Crispy Ananas – and pretty quickly our favourite product.
«In Thailand, pineapple isn't dessert from a tin. It is ripe, sweet, a little tart and everywhere: at the street stall, at the market, on the boat. That exact taste is what I missed here.»
So we're taking a clear step: Yum Society becomes a snack brand. Crunchy snacks made from real fruit, made honestly, with as few ingredients as possible.
Crispy Ananas, new look
- Real pineapple from Thailand, gently vacuum-fried in rice bran oil – two ingredients, nothing else.
- No added sugar, vegan, no palm oil.
- Around 4 g of fibre per 60 g pouch – now on the front of the new pouch, too.
- Online, Crispy Ananas now comes in packs of 5 or 12 pouches.
What stays – and what's next
The next snack is on its way: Coconut Folds. Coconut chips, folded. Soon.
You'll still find our Thai kitchen products in the shop, and the recipes stay online – ideally with a handful of Crispy Ananas on top.
You run a shop, a café or a kiosk? Crispy Ananas is available for retail too – samples and terms on request.
For retailersThanks for being here. Open. Share. Or don't.
